Itinerary

Day 1 - Imlil to Lepiney refuge (3,000m)

Morning drive from Marrakech to Imlil. Begin a 6-hour trek along long, winding mule tracks up to Tizi Mzik (2,664 m), offering spectacular views of Jebel Toubkal (4,167 m) and the surrounding peaks. From here, descend to Aazib n’Tamsoult (2,145 m) for lunch. Afterwards, follow the mule track past the Igouliden waterfall and arrive at the refuge by the end of the day.

Day 2 - Lipeney refuge - Toubkal refuge (3207m)

After breakfast, we start our trek along the zigzagging path to Aguelzim Pass. This moderately difficult hike follows winding mule tracks up to Tizi Aguelzim (3,104 m). We will either have a picnic along the route or enjoy a late lunch at Toubkal Refuge. Duration: 6 hours.

Day 3 - Neltner hut - Toubkal Peak - Imlil

We leave Toubkal Refuge (3,207 m) before dawn, following a well-worn route to the summit. If conditions are good, it should take no more than 2–3 hours to reach the top, where we can enjoy expansive views of the entire Atlas range and the Marrakech plains beyond. On the way back, we descend fairly rapidly to the villages of Sidi Chamharouch and Aremd, then follow the Mizane River along a well-forested trail to the trailhead at Imlil. Total walking time: approximately 8–9 hours.
