Day 1 - Marrakech - Ait Bouguemaz Valley
Depart from your hotel or the airport in the morning, heading towards Ait Bouguemaz Valley. Enjoy the spectacular landscapes with views of snow-capped mountains, stopping as often as you'd like for photo opportunities. Along the way, we’ll take a stroll to the Ouzoud Waterfalls, standing 110 meters high - Africa’s second tallest. Afterwards, we’ll stop for lunch in Azilal, the main town of the area. In the afternoon, we’ll continue our journey to the Happy Valley, where we'll spend the night at a camp located at 1,850 meters, soaking in the magic of the Central High Atlas.
Day 2 - Agouti (1,850m) – Ikiss N'Aaros (2,300m)
After a traditional breakfast made by our chef, we are going to start walking by crossing of the apple trees fields, Berber villages where we are be so close to the Berber life and conventional architectures, the lunch will be in the last village (Arose) before start climbing, under the walnuts shadow. After enjoying lunch, continue walking in arose canyon passing from the troglodyte houses then the arriving to the Ikiss in 6 hours walking overnight in camp (2300m).
Day 3 - Ikiss N'Aaros (2,300m) – Tarkddit Plateau (2,900m)
After breakfast, a short trek of 4 to 5 hours will take you to Tarkddit. The route is relatively steep, especially as you ascend the Tizi n'Oumzkik Pass (2,909m) and the Aghouri Pass (3,450m). However, your effort will be rewarded with breathtaking views from the top of these passes. After taking in the stunning panoramas, you'll follow a steep zigzag path down to the Tarkddit refuge, where you and your group will spend the night. The total walk is approximately 6 hours.
Day 4 - Tarkddit Plateau – M'Goun Summit – Oulilimt Valley
To reach the summit of M'Goun, the second-highest peak in North Africa, you'll start early with your guides. The ascent isn't technically difficult, but it does require effort in certain sections. Once you reach the summit, you'll be rewarded with breathtaking views of the surrounding natural beauty. On the way back, we'll take a different footpath leading to the Oulilimt Valley, where you may encounter Berber nomads and their cattle living in caves. We'll spend the night camping outdoors. The trek lasts approximately 8 hours.
Day 5 - Oulilimt Valley – Aflafal Gorges – Aflafal Refuge
After completing M’Goun, you’ll embark on a varied and scenic day of trekking. You’ll begin by traversing the edge of Arouss Gorge, passing streams and rivers, before ascending to the Oumsoud Pass at 2,969m. Enjoy a picnic in a charming meadow with a spring, located in the Oumlilimt Valley. After another 3 hours of trekking, you’ll explore the stunning Aflafal Gorges before reaching the Ain Aflafal Refuge, where you’ll spend the night. The total trek lasts approximately 5 hours.
Day 6 - Aflafal Refuge – Tighramt n'Ait Hamed – Ait Bouguemaz Valley – Marrakech
The day's trek will take about 5 to 6 hours, crossing the Ait Imi Pass and descending into Tabant. The path begins gently but becomes more challenging as you approach the pass, with a steep ascent at the end. From the top, you’ll be treated to spectacular views of the M’Goun Valley, and on a clear day, you can even see as far as Tabant, the heart of the Happy Valley. The descent is steep and involves loose scree, but it lasts only about 90 minutes. Finally, you’ll reach Ait Imi, where we’ll have our last lunch before catching the bus back to Marrakech.
