Day 1 - Imlil– Trek to Toubkal Refuge
We drive 1h30 transfer from Marrakech to Imlil .we meet our mule team and guide and start the trek trail towards Toubkal refuge. We will have a picnic lunch before continuing up the mule trail to the Toubkal refuge (3200m) – The timing of walk will be around 6h walking. Here we can either stay in dormitories in the refuge or camp outside.
Day 2 - Toubkal Refuge – Toubkal Summit – Trek to Imlil
We take an early breakfast around 5am to enjoy the fresh weather of the morning getting to Mount Toubkal peak. The ascent is not really difficult, but it is demanding with sections of scrambling and loose scree – depending on fitness. The views from the top are stupendous, north over the plain of Marrakech and south to the Sahara. We look down on many other peaks in the High Atlas and the village of Imlil. After having some snack and photos at the top, we start to retrace our steps to the refuge where we arrive in time for lunch. After lunch we descend slowly to Imlil. The descent is not difficult but it is long. we arrive in Imlil late in the afternoon. Afterwards drive to Marrakech if you didn’t book an extra night in Imlil.
